Redtail is an unusually small tortoiseshell and white tom with a distinctive bushy red tail, tufted ears and amber eyes.
Redtail was a ThunderClan ranger under Firestar's leadership, formerly under Bluestar and Sunstar's leadership. He was born to Rosetail and Sunstar as Redkit alongside his sister Spottedkit in ThunderClan. Redkit was later apprenticed to Tigerclaw by the new name of Redpaw. After his apprenticeship, Redpaw was later promoted to a full warrior as Redtail, later appointed as Bluestar's second deputy. During a battle against RiverClan at Sunningrocks, Tigerclaw assassinated Redtail in hopes for the deputyship, sending him wounded into the river. Redtail was later saved by Fireheart and his rebellion, helping to defeat Tigerclaw, now Tigerstar. After, he was invited back to ThunderClan as Firestar's deputy. Further in life, Redtail was killed in the Fake Eclipse battle by Mudstar.
