Firestar is a scarred medium-furred, unusually bright reddish orange tom with forest-green eyes and a stiff front leg.

Firestar was a ThunderClan leader and messenger formerly under Bluestar's leadership. He was born to Quince and Jake as Rusty as a wanderer. He was the sole kit of their second litter, the first consisting of Tiny, Ruby, Socks, Filou and Luna. At the age of an apprentice, Rusty was found by a ThunderClan patrol and welcomed into their Clan, earning the name of Firepaw with Redtail as his mentor. After his apprenticeship, Firepaw was later promoted to a full warrior as Fireheart. Fireheart was later imprisoned and exiled from ThunderClan after being falsely accused of murder by Tigerclaw. However, after defeating Tigerstar, Fireheart rose to ThunderClan's leader position, taking the full name of Firestar before being murdered by Tigerstar's spirit during the Great Battle of the Eclipse and ascending to StarClan.
